CHILDREN’S UNIVERSITY

Children’s University is part of our Extended Schools activities and our school is a recognised centre for this project.

We set up a range of activities and opportunities, which usually begin in the Spring Term for Year 1 and 2, however, this year we started our Samba Drumming, Football and Dodgeball clubs in September. In the Summer Term we give our Reception children the opportunity to attend one of our clubs.

There have been many activities for the children, some of the popular ones being Sewing and Craft, Art, Samba Drumming, Puppets, Multiskills, Tennis, Dodgeball, Football, Gymnastics, ICT and our new club the Choir.

The overall cost of the Children’s University project, for providers and resources is approximately £2,000 per term and your contributions help us to fund this project.

The different range of activities will enable the children participating to accumulate credits, which are linked to the number of hours that the children attend the clubs. This will lead to Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. At the end of Year 2 those children who have accumulated enough credits are honoured by wearing caps and gowns when they attend a prestigious Graduation Ceremony to receive their awards.
