Welcome to Class 2F! - Mr Fidler, Mrs Simon and 31 Superstars
We hope you enjoy finding out about what we have been up to in class. Our "Learning Together" sheet will be sent home at the end of every week and it will keep you updated with what we have been doing in our writing and maths lessons.
We listen to your child read at least once a week either individually or as a group. Children are reminded to bring reading books in every day and Library books on a Friday.
If your child has finished reading their book, have a good understanding of what has happened in it and they have been asked questions about it, they are able to change their book any day.
This half term the children will be focusing on writing some information texts and traditional tales. Each week children will be sent home a comprehension activity sheet to complete.
Using lots of practical equipment to help with our number work, we will be adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing sums and simple mathematical word problems. Look out for suggested activities in our "Learning Together" homework sheet.
Our topic work this week will focus on history and learning about Samuel Pepys and The Great Fire of London. The children will have a visit from Samuel Pepys himself to learn about how the fire started and how they stopped it from spreading further.
