Welcome to Class 2F! - Mr Fidler, Mrs Simon and 31 Superstars
We hope you enjoy finding out about what we have been up to in class. Our "Learning Together" sheet will be sent home at the end of every week and it will keep you updated with what we have been doing in our writing and maths lessons.
We listen to your child read at least once a week either individually or as a group. Children are reminded to bring reading books in every day and Library books on a Friday.
If your child has finished reading their book, have a good understanding of what has happened in it and they have been asked questions about it, they are able to change their book any day.
This half term the children will be focusing on writing some stories in familiar settings and traditional tales. Each week children will be sent home a comprehension activity sheet to complete.
Using lots of practical equipment to help with our number work, we will be dividing, working out fractions, measuring and telling the time. Look out for suggested activities in our "Learning Together" homework sheet.
Our topic work in History will focus on Toys from the past and comparing them to toys today. For Art, the children will paint pictures and draw toys from the past. For D&T the children will make their own puppets.
In Geography the children will be learning about the World Continents, Oceans and the UK.
Throughout R.E we focus on all the world religions such as Judaism, Hinduism and Christianity.
In Science our topics are variation and plants. We will be conducting investigations to see which environment is best for plants to grow.
We will become computer programmers within Computing, taking part in the hour of code and creating simple programs. The children will learn how to create algorithms and debug their programs.
PSHE will have a focus on environmental issues and the children will be setting goals for themselves.
In preparation for our class assembly, the children will be learning new songs.
