We hope you enjoy finding out about what we have been up to in class. Our "Learning Together" sheet will be sent home at the end of every week and it will keep you updated with what we have been doing in our writing and maths lessons.
Reading
We listen to your child read at least once a week either individually or as a group. Children are reminded to bring reading books in every day and Library books on a Wednesday.
If your child has finished reading their book, have a good understanding of what has happened in it and they have been asked questions about it, they are able to change their book any day.
Writing
This term our focus in writing will be on Information Text's and Traditional Tales. Each week children will be sent home a comprehension activity sheet to complete.
Maths
With the use of practical equipment and resources we will be adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing sums and solving some simple real life word problems. Make sure you check the Maths section of the "Learning Together" sheet for some suggested activities.
Topic
Our topic this half term focuses on History, we will be learning about The Great Fire of London and Samuel Pepys. The children will be visited by Samuel Pepys himself to learn all about the fire; including how it started and how they stopped it spreading further!
